Gavin J Walker becomes Singer Bangladesh chairman

The Board of Directors of Singer Bangladesh Limited in its 213th meeting held on April 30, 2015 (Thursday) elected Gavin J Walker as the Chairman of the Company.

Mr. Walker joined the Board of Singer Bangladesh Limited as Director on October 23, 2005. Gavin Walker is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Singer Asia Limited and was appointed to this position in August 2005. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Walker held offices as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of public quoted and private companies in the United Kingdom and South Africa.

Mr. Walker served as Chief Executive Officer of a multi-brand retailer of electrical appliances and furniture with operations in 16 African countries and Australia (including SINGER brand electrical appliances under license).

Gavin Walker serves on the Board of a number of Singer Asia subsidiaries and owns in his personal capacity 4.8% of the shares in Singer Asia Limited’s holding company. (Source: press release)
